The Minecraft HD resource pack is basically a remake of the vanilla visuals of Minecraft. If you aren’t particularly of all the modern day resource packs that aim to implement a completely new art style into the game, then Minecraft HD is a pack that you’ll definitely be satisfied with. The pack takes the vanilla visuals of the game and basically upscales all of the textures in order to make them more appealing. However, alongside upscaling the textures, the pack makes a few other creative changes as well that lead to a delightful visual experience for all players to enjoy.
The very first thing that you’ll notice about Minecraft HD as soon as you get into the game after applying it will probably be the smoothness and cleanliness of the textures. This pack does a near flawless job of removing noise from vanilla Minecraft’s textures, and this is definitely a noteworthy achievement. On top of the smoothness, the textures of the pack also look a lot more detailed, and this is, of course, thanks to the texture upscaling mentioned earlier. One rather peculiar thing we noticed about the Minecraft HD resource pack, though, is the fact that it uses a color palette that’s quite darker than the vanilla color palette but, thankfully, this risk ends up paying off nicely because the darker colors seem to work a lot better with the higher resolution textures.
The Minecraft HD resource pack has a resolution of x64 which is of course quite a bit higher than the usual x16, and this is why you’ll need a PC with above average hardware to use the pack without frame-rate troubles.
